ABSTRACT: The influence of early childhood education on substance abuse prevention was examined to understand how early educational interventions can deter future substance use. The study's objectives were to evaluate substance abuse awareness among preschoolers, identify effective preventive educational practices, and assess the long-term impact of these interventions. A survey design was used due to its effectiveness in collecting detailed data from a broad demographic. Purposive sampling was employed to select 200 children from preschools in Delta State, Nigeria. Findings showed that early childhood education significantly enhanced substance abuse awareness, with interactive lessons, role-playing, and parent involvement being particularly effective. The study recommended integrating substance abuse education into early childhood curricula to build a strong foundation for prevention.
